Smashing Pumpkins predicts that leave groups to record companies.
Mexico, Aug 25 .- The consecrated rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, which has no record company, I predict today that gradually most of the groups chose to ignore the music industry to retain their creative freedom.
"Artists will see little by little to no sense to depend on a record label to tell you to do," said their leader, Billy Corgan, the only original member.
, tera gold, The group, which under a sound and eccentric aspect the decade of 90, was speaking at a press conference in Mexico City to present an MTV event in which to act.
"We can decide that we want to present and maintain a more direct way the relationship with our fans," is sincere singer and guitarist.
Corgan critical that the record labels force, STO gold, artists to record music or pop oriented sound full of artists by commercial criteria, what I consider "outrageous."
The group sued in 2008 to his former record company, Virgin Records, on the grounds that use the name and music of the band for promotional deals that undermined their credibility.
Virgin publish their albums for most of his career.
Corgan recalled, tera gold, today the announcement made in June in her blog that the group soon will offer 44 songs for free or very cheap online.
"After a long relationship of contracts with different record labels, I think it was just decided that our songs are offered for free to everyone or to be sold at a dollar some of them," he said.
"We are living through difficult times in the economy", also justifies the U.S. decision to give away on their songs.
The themes are part of the recording for his eighth studio album, "Teargarden by Kaleidyscope", five of them are online and upload another next week, he explained.
The group hopes that the 44 items are ready for download later this year, and that will be released periodically. Every four songs also launched a "maxisingle" in physical form (CD).
The band had its peak with albums like "Siamese Dream" (1993), "Mellon Collie and the Infinite sadnes" (1995) and "Adore" (1998).
The Smashing Pumpkins are in Mexico to take part tomorrow in the recording of "MTV World Stage", consisting of concerts recorded in High Definition and first place in this country.
Joining them will be "30 Seconds to Mars," also led by the U.S. and actor Jared Leto ("Requiem for a Dream) - Mexican and Zoe. This is the first program of its kind to the string recorded in a Latin American country. ea-jrp/jsg
